Richard L. Colon, 19, of Lorain, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 in Lorain from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
He was born March 28, 1988 in Agana, Guam, coming to Lorain a year later where he has lived since.
He attended St. John Catholic parochial school and Whittier Junior High. He then attended Southview High School where he wrestled, and Admiral King High School. This past June, he received his G.E.D.
Richard played Lorain Youth Baseball, and enjoyed riding his motorcycles, playing basketball and baseball.
Surviving is his mother and step father, Lizzette Garcia-Reyes and John Reyes of Lorain; father, Louis Colon of Choctaw, Oklahoma; a sister, Kristina Rivera of Lorain and 3 sisters of Choctaw, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Olga and Luis Bonilla of Lorain; paternal grandmother, Mary Jean Colon of Choctaw, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Anthony Garcia in 2005; and paternal grandfather, Louis Colon in 1983.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
