Rita J. Roman

Rita J. Roman (nee Pagon), age 83, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Golden Acres Nursing Home.
She was born on May 23, 1925 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, moving to Lorain in 1962. She was employed at Joseph & Fiess as a seamstress for 10 years, before retiring in 1972.
Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, where she was also an active member and past President of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her children; Felix W. Roman, Felix A. "Tony" Roman, Tomas Lopez, Edwin E. Roman, Jorge Lopez, and Rosemarie Roman, all of Lorain, Mary Jane Roman-White, of Columbus, and Edwin J. "Kino" Lopez, of Lancaster, CA. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and her sister, YiYi Pagon, of Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix E. "Chico" Roman, in 1976, her sons; Jose Angel Lopez, in 1998 and Luis Lopez, in 2006, daughter, Rosa Aviles, in 2006, and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends will also be received on Saturday, from 8 am until the time of Mass at 9:00 am, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
