Robert O. "Bobby" Southard
July 9, 1926 — July 20, 2005
Robert "Bobby" O. Southard, age 79, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Community Health Partners HSC - West, after a lengthy illness.
Robert was born on July 9, 1926 in Lorain where he has lived his entire life. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II, and worked with submarines', one in particular, the "CERO." Robert was employed as an independent truck driver.
He is survived by a son, Ralph E. Hess, of Cleveland, 4 daughters; Deborah Jean Hope, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Lisa Marie Southard, of Louisville, KY, Rose Shannon Southard, of Cleveland, and Kathy Williams of Cleveland, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tricia Lynn Cunningham, who died in 1991, his parents, Clyde E. and Rosetta (nee Horton) Southard, and a sister Jean.
The family is holding private services. Arrangements are being handled by the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain.
