Roger D. Short, 67 of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a short illness.
He was born October 24, 1948 to the late Theresa Short. Roger lived in Akron before moving to Lorain in 1973.
Roger worked as an assembler for Ford Motor Company Lorain Assembly Plant for 27 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 425. Roger enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, playing pool and relaxing on his front porch.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Patricia (nee Lucas); sons, Roger Short Jr. and James (Sherri) Short both of Elyria; daughters, Michelle Langston and Lisa Sexton both of Lorain; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons.
Besides his mother, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Short and Kenneth Short.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
