Rodolfo Solis

Rodolfo V. Solis passed away at his home on his birthday in Lorain, Ohio on June 9th, 2024, from a lengthy history of heart issues.

He was born to Benito Solis and Delores V Vega Solis on June 9th, 1949. He worked in the automotive repair industry for most of his life. 

Known as Rudy to those who loved and knew him well, he will be remembered as a God-fearing husband, father, grandfather, and brother that lived his life with a good heart and the best of intentions always. He had a love for children and animals. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, gracious heart, love for family and the Lord.

He has now been reunited with the love of his life, his wife.

He is survived by his children, Sophia Hernandez-Ortiz (Anthony) and Myoshi Thompson Noble, Jose “Pito” Negron (Jessica), Marco Negron, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers and other beloved family members. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mercado Solis; both of his parents; daughter, Priscilla Hernandez; sister, Elba Ana Solis and brothers, Roberto V Solis, Efrain Solis, Frank Solis, and Josue Solis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain.  Rev. Mark Hebebrand of House of Praise International will officiate.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
