Roland Sanabria, age 46, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Lorain, died on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Advocate Masonic Hospital, Chicago, IL, following a very brief illness.
He was born on April 12, 1960 in Lorain, Ohio, moving to Florida from 1984-1990 when he moved to Chicago, IL.
He was a 1978 graduate of Southview High School. He then graduated from McAllister College in St. Paul, MN with a bachelor's degree in teaching.
He was employed as a elementary school teacher, in Chicago, IL and also was employed in social work, admitting patients into the Emergency Room.
He was a former member of Sacred Heart Chapel.
Roland enjoyed traveling, dancing, listening to music, reading and visiting with family.
He is survived by his parents: Juan and Dolores "Lola" (nee Jimenez) Sanabria, of Lorain, brother: Gerald "Jerry" Sanabria, of Columbus, OH, and sisters: Mary R. Sanabria and Enid Sanabria, both of Lorain, 1 niece and 1 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his brother: Louis Palacios on June 13, 1989.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 18, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
