Ronald T. "Ron" Degan, age 70, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 15, 1936 in Lorain and has lived here his entire life.
Ron was employed as a tow motor operator at Pepsi Cola in Elyria for 10 years, retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed fishing and watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Sally (nee Piazza) Degan, step-sons: Dominic Penson and Michael Penson, both of Elyria, step-daughters: Maxine Ptak, of Warren, IN, Mary Sue Carpenter, of Elyria, Donna Brady, of Park City, KA, Ann Green of Elyria, Dolores Telzrow, of Wellington and Theresa White, of Lorain, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, brother: Dennis Degan, of River View, MI, and sisters: Shirley Pozega, of Elyria, Beverly Brumby, of Vermilion and Linda Phelps, of Joshua Tree, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Helen (nee Wilson) Degan, brother: James Degan, grandson: Dominic Penson, Jr., and great-grandson: Shane Brown.
Private services for the family where held. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
