Ronald J. Greenfield,Sr. age 67, of Elyria, died on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on November 9, 1943 in Lorain, where he graduated from Clearview High School in 1961. He moved to Elyria in 1964.
Ronald served in the United States Navy.
He was a grade A machinist at US Kolbe for 12 years, prior to this he was employed at Kasper Foundry, Elyria for 15 years, where he was a foreman in the machine shop.
He attended St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, of Elyria, and United Steelworkers Union Local #1104. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and sports.
He is survived by his son: Ronald of Cincinnati and daughter, Dawn (Fred) Wingler, of Elyria and sister, Carrie Rose, of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Helen (nee Marten) Greenfield and brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Albert Krupp, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Elyria will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military honors will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.
