Ronald "Ron" Simpkins

Ronald "Ron" Simpkins, Sr. age 65, died suddenly on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his residence.
Ron was born on October 13, 1946 in Delbarton, West Virginia, living most of his life in Lorain.
He was a 1966 graduate of Elyria High School. Ron was employed for 31 years as a technician at General Motors, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Elyria. Ron enjoyed raising his cats.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years: Terese L. (nee Vancs), mother: Rose (nee Totten) Simpkins, of Elyria, step-daughter: Dana Reyes, of Lorain, step-son: Derek Fuller, of Parma, his children: Rhonda Bellville, of Oklahoma, Ron "Bub" Simpkins, of Grafton, Misty Barnes, of NC, Michael Simpkins, of Lorain, Edward Simpkins, of NC and 13 grandchildren, brother: Roger Simpkins, of Elyria and sister: Linda Manning, of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his father: G.E. Simpkins in 1989.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, There will also be a visitation on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church, 41822 Griswold Road, Elyria. Rev. Chuck Keesee, pastor will officiate.
