Ronald R. Soto, 67, of Lorain, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following lengthy illness.
He was born on July 16, 1939 in Lorain, he moved to Las Vegas from 1991-1999 then back to Lorain.
He was a 1958 graduate of Lorain High School, he had also attended Lorain County Community College where he earned 40 credits in Police Science.
He served in the United States Army as a specialist from 1960-1962.
Ronald was employed as a Lorain Police Officer for 20 years, retiring in Feb. 1986. After his retirement he worked as a Security Screener at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, Cleveland from 1990-1991 and Las Vegas Airport from 1991 - 1998
He was a life member of Amvets Post #47 and Fraternal Order of Police since 1968.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Gorgonio in 1984 and Stella (nee Kinser) Soto in 2002.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon. Rev. Lou Maldonado, deacon of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
