Rosa Gonzalez

Rosa Gonzalez (nee Soto), age 81, of Lorain, died Thursday, June 8, 2023 in her home
surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
Born August 29, 1941, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she lived in Florida before moving to Lorain in
the 1980’s.
She was a member of Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera in Lorain and enjoyed cooking and
sewing.
Surviving is her son, Jose Gonzalez of Lorain; daughters, Rosa Gonzalez of Cleveland and Iris
Sanchez of Lorain; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Lorenzo Soto of
Arecibo; and sisters, Librada Soto, and Sonia Soto all of Arecibo, Maria Perez, Margarita Soto,
and Lydia Soto all of New York.
She was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Domingo Gonzalez in 2019; parents,
Lorenzo Serrano and Estervina Soto; brothers, Catalino Soto and Felipe Soto; and sisters, Inez
Soto, Ana Delia Soto, Juana Soto, Esther Soto and Lydia Soto.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Dovin Funeral and
Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at
10:00 a.m. in Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misioner, 1930 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Ruben
Rodriguez, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
