Rose A. Altomare (nee Buffa), 91 of Vermilion, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born January 29, 1922 in Detroit, she moved to Lorain in 1942. For the past 7 years she has been living with her son in Vermilion.
Rose was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel in Lorain.
Surviving are her sons, Frank (Marylou) of Toledo and Samuel (Dorothy) of Vermilion; a daughter, Frances Rabold of Amherst; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Frank in 1999; her parents, Vito and Frances (nee Ruffino) Buffa; brothers, John, Pete, and Vito; and a sister, Frances Palposi.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, 2655 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
