Rose M. Sechrist-Adams, (nee Skodney) age 78, of Lorain, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on August 19, 1936 in Lorain, where she has lived her entire life. Rose was a 1954 graduate of Lorain High School and attended nursing school.
Rose was employed as a LPN at Lorain Works US Steel for over 10 years, prior to this she was a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and also was employed with Dr. Floro, Sr. in his medical practice for years.
She attended the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lorain. She enjoyed bowling, watching movies and sports on tv, reading and taking trips to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Lawrence J. Adams; son, Edward Sechrist of Philadelphia, PA; step-son, Larry Adams, Jr, of Vermilion; step-daughters, Lisa (Jim) Bachman , of Lorain and Pam Kahlden, of Sugarland, TX; 7 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Dorothy (nee Hartman) Skodney; her first husband, Raymond Sechrist, sister, Gennie Zube; brother, Dale Skodney and step son, Jeff Adams.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Lou Maldonado, will officiate.
