Rosetta E. Gribben (nee Naro), age 93, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
She was born on August 24, 1919 in Lorain, where she lived her entire life. She was a 1937B graduate of Lorain High School and a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter. Rosetta volunteered for the Cancer Society for 18 years, as well as working with the Lorain Senior Center and the Black River Historical Society. She was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" for 3 years in a row and also received an award for 7500 hours of Volunteer work in 2006. She enjoyed oil painting and playing the organ.
Rosetta is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Lankford, nieces; Dianne (Ed) Banas, Patricia (Darrell) Long, and Marilyn (Paul) Ranck, and a nephew, James (Carole) Naro.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Stanley, in 1981, daughters; Pamela Shumaker and Roseann Gribben, her son, James, her brother, Ben Naro, a sister, Josephine (Capretta) Stewart, and her parents; James and Rose (nee Furistri) Naro. Rosetta loved her family life and her friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:30 am, at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Craig M.
