Sandra "Sandi" Michael

Sandra “Sandi” Michael (nee Bach), age 88, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at her home following a sudden illness.

She was born on February 14, 1935, in Lorain, Ohio, where she remained a longtime resident and graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 52B.  She attended Oberlin School of Commerce and worked as a secretary at Bendix Westinghouse in Elyria before moving to Columbus, Ohio with her husband, Gene, while he was attending The Ohio State University.  While in Columbus, Sandi worked as a secretary at Battelle Memorial Institute.

Sandi returned to Lorain where she raised her family. She worked at REMS (Romanoff Electric Motor Service), Reith Insurance and was an administrative assistant at Lorain City Schools for nearly 20 years.

An adoring mother, Sandi was happiest while spending time with her family and was loved by everyone who knew her.  She enjoyed gambling, golfing, bowling, traveling, reading and time with “the girls” in her poker club who were her lifelong friends. 

Sandi is survived by her sons, Brian (Karen) Michael, Glenn Michael and daughter, Maureen Michael; brother, William Bach and sister, Camille (Bach) Toth. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eugene “Gene” Michael and parents, Frank and Bernice (Sadowski) Bach.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
