Sandra Yavornitzky

Sandra Mae Yavornitzky (nee Vronick), entered into eternal rest on 21 May 2024 at the age of 89.   She was born 31 July 1934 in Lorain, OH.

Sandra graduated from Lorain High School in 1954 and was a homemaker.  She had briefly worked at Harts Jewelry store in Lorain after high school and was a Girl Scout troop leader for several years.  She had been a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, St. Stephen Russian Orthodox Church and St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, all in Lorain, OH.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Yavornitzky, her parents Luke Vronick, Mary (Mihalsky-Vronick) Gochnour, along with sisters Sonia (Vronick) Burgett, Barbara (Vronick) Jordan, and brothers Luke Vronick and Daniel Gochnour.

She is survived by her children Caren Quisenberry (Jon), Suzanne Glowacki (Mike), grandchildren Megan Quisenberry-Gagnon (Tony), Jason Quisenberry (Stefanie), Justin Quisenberry (Nicole) and Robert Glowacki (Jessica), her sister Danielle (Gochnour) Montenaro and brother Keith Gochnour (Ned), and many nephews, nieces and extended family.

The family thanks the staff at Sprenger Towne Center in Avon Lake, OH, for caring for Sandra in her final years and Hospice of the Western Reserve for comfort care in her final days.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Andrew Yavornitzky will officiate.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Friendship Animal Protective League (Elyria, OH), the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Lorain County Metroparks, or your favorite charity.
