Santos Rodriguez (Diaz-Torres), age 85, of Lorain, died on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake.
She was born on November 1, 1921 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, moving to Lorain 60 years ago, where she had spent the remainder of her life.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and was also active at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Elyria.
She is was survived by 6 children; Mary Arellano, of Flushing, NY, Mike Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez, Paul Rodriguez, and Nelson Rodriguez, all of Lorain, and Hector Rodriguez, of Phoenix, AZ, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Esteban Rodriguez, in 1998, and 2 sons; Alonso Rodriguez, in 1984, and Elmer Rodriguez, in 2000, and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 4, 207, from 5-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends will also be received on Tuesday morning, from 8:30 until the time of mass at 9:30 am, at Scared Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. James P. Schmitz, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Lorain.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, OH 44120.
