Shelley R. Russo

Shelley R. Russo, age 66, of Norwalk and formerly of Lorain, Ohio, passed away on September 14, 2024, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 26, 1957, in Lorain, living there until she moved to Vermilion in 1983. She attended Southview High School and received her GED in 1984, then went on to Lorain Business College, receiving a Medical Secretary degree in 1990.

She worked various jobs, including St. Joseph Hospital, Key Corp. in Cleveland and later as the owner of her photography business.

Shelley was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed scrapbooking, fishing and photography.

Survivors include her longtime partner, Ernie Pilson as well as her son, Brian Cox.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Cox in 1987; parents, Ralph Russo and Mary (nee Kelly) Velez; stepparents, Shirley (nee Chappell) Russo and Greg Velez; brothers, Danny, Ralph “Rick” and Ron, as well as her grandparents, Giuseppe and Rosina (nee Sazambio) Russo and Norma Kelly.

Shelley will be missed by all that knew and loved her. To honor and respect Shelley’s final wishes, Shelley asks all attendees to wear Steeler shirts.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
