Shirley R. Busser

October 15, 1932 — March 20, 2021

Shirley R. Busser (nee Miller) age 88, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community following a lengthy illness.

Born October 15, 1932 in St. Benedict, PA, she moved to Lorain in 1958.

Shirley worked as a travel agent at AAA for 18 years, retiring in 1997.  Her husband Jerry owned and operated Kirby Service Center in Lorain for 15 years and after his passing in 2004, Shirley continued the business for several years.  Shirley also worked as a secretary for Dr. Michael Kolczun Sr. for 3 years.

Shirley was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Lorain and the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church.  She was also a member and past president of the former Twin Cities Kiwanis Club.

Shirley is survived by her sisters, Joyce Parker of Texas, Evelyn Hadley of Akron; brothers, John Miller of Vermilion, Russell Miller of Akron and Thomas Miller of Minnesota; and her dear friend, Keith (Joan) Kushinski of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jerome “Jerry”; son, Michael in 1981; parents, V. J. and Agnes Miller; brothers, Arthur Miller and Regis Miller; and sisters, Alice Fuller and Rita Hartz.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. John C. Retar, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Parish will officiate.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
