Shirley M. Kilkenny, (nee Schrader) 63, of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a year long illness.
She was born April 1, 1944 in Dixie, W.V., to the late Okey Dale Schrader Sr. and Sally Ann (nee Payne) Schrader. Shirley attended Grassy Creek Elementary School and Webster Springs High School in Webster Springs, W. V. Shirley has been a resident of Lorain since 1965, a member of Christian Life Church, Lorain. Besides attending church, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, watching the Cleveland Indians and listening to bluegrass music.
She leaves behind Frederick, her husband of 40 years; her children, Robert, Tina Kilkenny, Lori Stempowski, and Sandra Kilkenny all of Lorain; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Jesse, Larry "Dwayne", Henry, James and George all of West Virginia, Freddie of Lorain, and Timmy of Medina; sisters, Geneva Eubank and Martha Sue Gratz both of Lorain, Rosemary Barker, Nancy Jo Hall, and Glady Mae Deck all of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Ruby Pearl Hall Schrader, and her brother, Okey Dale Schrader, Jr.
Friends may call on Monday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Wallace Justice, pastor of Christian Life Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
