Shirley A. Solomon (ne Pruchnicki) age 82, of Lorain, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake, following a sudden illness.A lifelong resident of Lorain,

Shirley was born Wednesday, October 12, 1938 to the late Peter and Alma (nee Hall) Pruchnicki.  She attended Clearview High School and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain.Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening and crossword puzzles.  She loved her cat Gizzy.

Surviving is her loving husband of 65 years, William “Bill”; son Ronald Solomon of Lorain; daughters, Victoria P’Simer of Amherst and Patricia Sanders of Lorain; grandchildren, Christopher Burnett, James Burnett, Theresa Chapman and Shannon O’Donnell; great grandchildren, James, Christopher, Samara, Cece, Alyssa, Colton, Jackson and Mia; and great great-grandchildren, Isabella, Rosabell, Iliana, Miles and David.

Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Rockwell and Beverly Love; and a granddaughter, Amy Nicole P’Simer.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 12:00 pm in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.  Rev. John Retar, pastor of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish in Lorain will officiate.  The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
