Stanley C. Schroeder

June 24, 1928 — December 31, 2005

Stanley C. Schroeder, age 77, of North Royalton, formerly of Lorain, died Saturday, December 31, 2005 in the Southwest General Surgical Center in Berea, following a sudden illness.


Mr. Schroeder was born on June 24, 1928 in Lorain and had lived in Lorain for most all of his life, moving to North Royalton in October of last year. During the Korean Conflict, he had served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed by U.S. Steel, in Lorain, in the Motor Room for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed gardening, reading mysteries, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles and watching Cleveland Indian's Baseball and Cleveland Brown's Football.


He is survived by 1 daughter- Lyn Ziebro of Parma Heights; 2 sons- Kurt Schroeder of Columbus and John Schroeder of North Royalton; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years- Marie (nee-Kusner) Schroeder in 1995; his parents- Stanley E. and Ida (nee-Frederick) Schroeder; and 2 brothers- Ralph E. Schroeder and Wallace W. Schroeder.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 from noon until 1:00 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, followed by a graveside service on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, with the Rev. William Schill, officiating.
