Stella Kobasic, 88, of Lorain, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at Rae-Ann-Westlake following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 23, 1918 in Lorain, where she lived for 85 years before moving to Avon Lake in 2003.
She worked at Moen in Elyria for many years.
She was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church, Lorain, and enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with her family.
Surviving is her brother, Edward Kobasic of Lorain; sisters, Evelyn DiLuciano of Lorain, and Elaine Niehenke of Olmsted Falls; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin F. Kobasic in 1975, and Anna (nee Lukenic) Kobasic in 1971; brothers, Edward Kobasic and Anthony Kobasic both in infancy, Martin Kobasic in 1984, John Kobasic in 2002, Richard Kobasic in 1946, and Robert in 2004; sisters, Margaret Kobasic in 1996, Mary Ann Simko in 1995, and Dorothy Kobasic in 1965.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, with a rosary service at 5:00 pm. Funeral services will Thursday at 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, W. 7th Street and Reid Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Simon Nekic, pastor of St. Vitus Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
