Stella M. Pearl (nee Kowalczyk) age 82, of Lorain, died on September 21, 2010, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 1, 1927 in Lorain and has resided here her entire life.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Stella had worked at General Industries for 30 years and also worked at Bill and Don's Catering for 20 years. She enjoyed baking and working on word puzzles.
Stella is survived by her son, Michael, of Lorain, her 3 grandsons; Benjamin, Jonathon, and Zachary, and a sister, Casmira Sescila, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert I. "Bill", in 1991, parents; Frank and Stella (nee Dembek) Kowalczyk, 7 brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 5-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where prayers will be held Thurs. at 9:30 am. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am, at Nativity of the B.V.M. Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to, the American Cancer Society, 43099 North Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
