Steve Berencsi

March 29, 1919 — June 12, 2005

Steve Berencsi, age 86, of Elyria, died on Sunday, June 12, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a sudden illness.

He was born on March 29, 1919 in Phoenixville, PA, moving to Lorain in 1953 from Niles, Ohio.

He was employed at American Shipbuilding Company, Lorain for over 30 years before retiring.

Steve was a member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ and was also a member of the William Penn Association.

He enjoyed working on his yard and caring for his lawn.

He is survived by his sons: James Berencsi, of Elyria and William Berencsi, of Northfield, OH, and 2 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years: Elizabeth (nee Bazar) in 2000 and brother: Julius.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Frank Juhasz Shepherd, Interim minister will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
