Stirling Nelson Tate, age 64, of Lorain, died on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 26, 1946 in Haden Town, PA moving to Lorain in 1949.
Sterling was employed at Kobe Steel in the Rolling Mill Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He was an active member and acting deacon of The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel.
Sterling enjoyed sports.
He is survived by his brothers, Blaine and Barrett, both of Lorain, Roland of Olmsted Falls; sisters, Nancy Sabo, of Avon, Patricia Bedocs, of North Ridgeville, and Carol Ann Lambert of Fairmont, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Pearl (nee Jordan) Tate; and a brother, Emery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, 2655 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Elder Mark Naro will officiate.
