Susana Cruz Rivera, 80, of Lorain, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Southwest General Hospital, Middleburg Heights, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 24, 1926 in Humacao, Puerto Rico; living in North Carolina for 2 years before settling in Lorain in 1949.
She worked for Lorain Towel Supply in the laundry department for 29 years, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and the Charismatic Movement at the church.
She enjoyed collecting dolls, and loves her pet dogs.
Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Jose Rivera; a son, Marcelino Perez of Lorain; 1 step son, and 3 step daughters; 25 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Eva Cruz of Azusa City, California.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Anicacin Cruz and Rosa Ojeda; a sisters, Juana Cruz, and Mercedes Cruz.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by Liturgy of the Word at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
