Susan Vanwinkle

Susan R. Vanwinkle (nee Berg), age 71, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at her residence.

She was born July 5, 1951 to Gilbert and Ada (nee Doneyho) Berg in Amherst, Ohio.

She enjoyed playing with her three cats, Buddy, Fancy and Ruby as well as playing games on her computer, reading books and watching movies.  Above all she loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Regina (Charlie) Strausser and Jason (Xiaolan) Van Winkle, Tommy (Kristen) Collins and Michael Collins; grandchildren, Kayla (Jason) Hardin, Nicholas (Ansley) Switzer, Steven (Mariah) Rogers, Leon (Vikki) Rodriguez, Christopher (Holly) Rodriguez and Tommy Collins Jr.; great grandchildren, Christian Sanders, Cameron Riley, Elijah Shabozz, Brinlee Switzer, Hanna Rodriguez, CJ Rodriguez and Chase Rodriguez and her sister-in-law, Laura Berg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hobert Vanwinkle; both of her parents as well as her brothers, Gilbert Jr. and Ernest William Berg.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 3-7 p.m. at 1133 W. 21^st Street, Lorain.  Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists handled the arrangements.
