Terence A. Martinak, age 58 of Michigan, formerly of Elyria, died on Monday, January 12, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a brief illness.
He was born on November 17, 1950 in Lorain, Ohio and was a long time Elyria and Michigan resident.
He graduated from Elyria High School in 1968. He then attended Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University receiving his bachelor's degree.
Terence was an engineer at Ford Motor Company for 31 years, where he was recognized for several patents, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of Elyria Eagles #431 and the Sons of Amvets Post 32.
Terence enjoyed golfing and skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Tami S. (nee White) Martinak, of Elyria, son, Aaron J. of Rixeyville, VA, brothers, Joseph of Orangevale, CA, Philip of North Olmstead, sister, Patricia Martinak, of Elyria, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph A. Martinak in 2004 and Mary M. (nee Mulica) Martinak in 1983 and his previous wife, Bonnie R. (nee Banks) in 2000.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery.
