Tessie L. Bashak, age 92, of Elyria, passed away on January 8, 2011 at the Life Care Center, Elyria.
She was born on March 21, 1918, in Lorain, moving to Elyria in 1941. She was employed for a few years at Weitz, in Lorain, and also worked at the United Polish Club Fish Fry's, in Elyria.
Tessie was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the church's Sisterhood. She also was a member of the United Polish Club, in Elyria.
She enjoyed baking, especially cookies and cakes.
Tessie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Bashak, of Jacksonville, FL, son, Michael, Jr., of Elyria, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Michael, in 1985, a brother, Andrew, sisters; Mary Emery and Rose Hodson, and her parents; Alex and Anna Lewchak.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 10, from 5-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where Parastas will be held at 6:30 pm. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, from 9 am until the time of funeral services at 10 am, at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 W. 32nd Street, Lorain. The Very Rev. Fr. Basil Stoyka, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in her memory, may be made to, Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 W. 32nd St., Lorain, Ohio 44055.
