Thelma I. "Pee Wee" Ferrel, (nee Leazier), age 80 of Lorain died on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Community Health Partners HSC West, Lorain after a sudden illness.
Born on February 18, 1924 in Somerset, PA, she has lived in Lorain for the past 48 years.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 451 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Steelers, playing the lottery and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Ronald Miller, of Amherst and Barry Miller, of Elyria; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren;3 brothers, Bill Leazier, and Dave Leazier, both of Amherst and Jack Leizer; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Yoder, of Friedens, PA and Rose Baker, of Somerset, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter and Mary (nee Wilson) Leazier; her brothers, Jim, Fred and Bob; and her sisters, Ruth Leazier, Louise Martin, and a sister who died in infancy.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Saturday, January 15, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. . Rev. Travis Bailey, of New Harvest Baptist Church, Wakeman, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
