Tim E. Benczi, age 51, of Lorain, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, after an extended illness.
He was born on September 21, 1953 in Lorain, where he has lived most of his life.
Tim was a self-employed construction worker and primarily worked in the Lorain area.
He was a member of the PACC in Lorain, the Slovak Club in Lorain, and the UPC, also in Lorain.
Tim loved old-time rock and roll music, going camping and fishing, and was a Brown's fan.
He is survived by a son, Timothy E., Jr., of St. Petersburg, FL, 2 daughters; Jessica Polly, of Lorain and Nicol Harness of St. Petersburg, FL, his mother, Mabel Leona Barlow, of Lorain, 7 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Cheryl Poole, of Cleveland and Marie Zelina, of Vermilion, and 5 nieces.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie Benczi (nee Tortino), a son, Mark Allen Benczi, his father, Paul J. Benczi, and a brother, Gary P. Benczi.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 6-8 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave.,Lorain, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rev. Ray Dillinger, of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
