Verona "Vernony" Scalf, (nee Hamilton), age 66, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain, following a extended illness.
She was born on April 12, 1939 in Harold County, Kentucky, she moved to this area in 1965. She has also lived in Michigan.
Verona was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and cooking.
She is survived by her sons: James D. Scalf, Sam J. Scalf, both of Lorain, daughters: Lenda S. Mussell, Nancy L. Stoutenburgh, Rita J. Scalf, Barbara Davitz, all of Lorain and Alberta M. Boyer, of Minneapolis, MN, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, brother: Cecil, sisters: Lovell, Virginia, Verbal (Jean), Sola, Viola and Lula.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Denver Lee Scalf in 2004, parents: Theodore and Arizona (nee Hall) Hamilton, and two brothers: Arthur and Gene.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 noon at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Everett Gipson, pastor of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
