Victor E. “Uncle Vic” Blecman, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2019 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born August 20, 1952 in Lorain, Ohio and was a 1970 graduate of Elyria High School. Music was his passion, so he began his career as a musician as part of the band “Flight”. In January of 1977 he opened Uncle Vic’s Nightclub in Elyria, which featured disco music and later he would deejay for various Cleveland nightclubs.
“Uncle Vic” loved music. He would often create music about Cleveland sports teams and deliver them to AM radio personality Mike Trivisonno to be played on air. From 1979 to 1986, Victor hosted a popular Sunday radio show on what is now 98.5 WNCX-FM.
Surviving is his wife of 10 years, Vicki Blecman (nee Phillips); son, David Blecman of Arizona; daughters, Michelle (Clayton) Burrows and Renee (John) Bartlome both of Sheffield Lake; grandchildren, Samantha Blecman and Chad Ruppert both of Arizona, Eric Garner, Macy Burrows, Brandon Bartlome, Blake Bartlome and Lexi Bartlome all of Sheffield Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Marcel Blecman as well as his brother, Marty Blecman.
Private services are being held at a later date. Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists handled the arrangements.
