Victor Santiago

Victor Diaz Santiago, age 91, of Lorain, peacefully passed on August 18, 2024, in Elyria, Ohio, surrounded by my family after a battle with COVID-19. Victor was born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, on August 9, 1933. 

Victor is survived by his loving and beautiful wife, Antonia Gonzalez Berrios, and their 8 children, Irma Cruz, Victor Diaz Jr, Alberto Diaz, Sonia Diaz, Carmen Bosley, Reina Ramos, Edwin Diaz, and Eda Bauza. Victor and Antonia's beloved daughter Gladys Lamboy previously passed and is remembered. Victor Diaz was a loving husband, strong and humble father, and the world's best grandfather. 

He was known for his charming good looks, warm and inviting smile, consistent and admirable work ethic, and deep devotion to his wife. Victor was a master Carpenter who loved sweets, was always glad to receive a delicious flan, cake, or other treat, and was even more happy to share it with others. His many grandchildren knew they could depend on his pockets to be filled with a caramel Werther’s Original. Victor loved to watch Old Westerns in his comfy recliner at home with his family. Victor had suave charisma that would instantly charm everyone he met dressed in a stylish guayabera and classic aviators unless he was working in a simple flannel in his eagerness to help and support others. Victor was deeply loved by all who knew him, and all would miss his beautiful laughter. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle, 1530 Lake Breeze Rd. Sheffield, OH. 44054 at 11:00 AM. The Dovin Funeral and Cremations Specialists in Lorain is handling the arrangements.
