Victoria Sanchez (nee DeJesus), age 86, of Lorain, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born November 17, 1930 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, she has lived in Lorain since moving here in 1956.
Victoria was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed watching soap operas, gardening and cooking.
Surviving are her sons, Jose "Che" Jr. (Tati) of Kansas City, Missouri, Pablo of Lorain; daughters, Lenny (Ernesto) Velez of Lorain, Migdalia "LaLi" (Nestor) Gonzalez of Elyria, Maria Sanchez of Orlando, Florida, Olga (Jaime) Cruz of Elyria and Edna (Wenslo) Sanchez-Alvarez of Kansas City, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; brothers, Afortunado DeJesus of Lorain, Gabriel DeJesus of Florida and Esteban DeJesus of Lorain; and a sister, Isabel DeJesus of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jose Daniel "Baron" Sanchez in 2003; son, Robert in 2000; parents, Pablo and Alfonsina (nee Rivera) DeJesus; a brother, Manuel DeJesus; and a great granddaughter, Angelica Marie Feliciano.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate.
