Vigermina Hance (nee Beauchamp) age 78, of Avon Lake, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake, following a short illness.
Born July 8, 1932 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1950. For the past 13 years, she lived in Avon Lake.
Vigermina worked as a nurse's aid at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in the 1970's. Following that, she worked in home health care, retiring 8 years ago.
She was a member of Iglesia Nueva Vida, Lorain. She enjoyed gardening, walking to the beach, and socializing with others at the activity center at Beach Park Towers where she lived. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society?
She enjoyed cooking and having her family over for dinner.
Surviving are her sons, Julio Jr. of Dallas, TX, Ruben and Henry of Lorain; a daughter, Nellie Hance of Lorain; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Emilio of Florida, Puerto Rico; sisters, Carmen Gonzalez of Lorain, Hortencia Davila of Norman, OK, Angelina Rios of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and Modesta Beauchamp of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Julio in 1997; parents, Guillermo and Modesta (nee Girano) Beauchamp; brothers, Antonio, Guillermo, and Justino; sisters, Virginia Beauchamp, Mercedes Beauchamp, and Antonia Beauchamp.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. Alexandra Torrijos, pastor of Iglesia Nueva Vida will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
