Viola M. Oswalt (nee Hartman), age 90, of Elyria, died on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 22, 1919 in Lorain and has been a life-long resident.
Viola was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, formerly Vincent United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Organization.
She is survived by her daughter: Betty (Louis) Williams, of Lorain, her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Oswalt, of Elyria, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph T. Oswalt in 1994, sons; Wilburt and Joseph, parents; Nicholas and Margret (nee Litz) Hartman, brothers; Wilburt, Earl and James Hartman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, from 2-4 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am. The Rev. Bill Goodrich, of the God Cares Ministry, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
