Violet Vidovich (nee Glusich) age 92, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at her lifelong residence while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve following a lengthy illness.
Born April 2, 1925 in Benwood, West Virginia, she came to Lorain in 1945 where she has lived since.
Violet worked as a manager at Miss Ann's Day Nursing in Lorain for 18 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the former St. Vitus Catholic Church, Lorain and enjoyed being a homemaker and caregiver.
Surviving are her sons, Stephen Jr. (Eve) of North Ridgeville and Robert (Sandra) of Elyria; a daughter, Kathy (Ernie) Fritz of Elyria; grandchildren, Stephanie Vidovich, Louis Fritz, Katie Fritz, Matthew Vidovich and Christopher Vidovich; and brother, Thomas Glusich; and a favorite niece, Francis Marie Sobray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Robert "Check-Eye" Vidovich Sr. in 1996; parents, John and Lubica (nee Ratisic) Glusich; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of services at 1:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with John Slatcoff, deacon of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church officiating.
