Virginia M. Forbes, (nee Mahla), 92 of Elyria, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Wesleyan Village, Elyria following a short illness.
She was born March 28, 1916 in Lorain, and lived there until moving to Elyria in 2004.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1934 and had worked as a nurse's aid for Shield Nursing Home in Lorain. Virginia was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria and enjoyed crocheting.
Surviving is her daughter, Cathie Buckingham of Elyria; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Vincent G. Forbes in 1994; parents, Howard Mahla and Nana (nee Spademan) Mahla; and a daughter, Gail J. Thomas in 2004.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 - 9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be at 8:30 pm. Rev. Dalton Love, assisting pastor of First United Methodist Church, Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
