Virginia Lee Thoen

Virginia Lee Thoen (nee Poyle) age 79, of Lorain, slipped quietly into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 1, 2017 at her residence.
Born January 17, 1939 in Isabella, Pennsylvania to the late Sunday and Blanche (nee Baker) Poyle and settled in Lorain in 1954.
Ordained in 1975, Virginia associated with Healing Waters Church in 1984 and became the pastor there in 1993. She was currently a member of At the Feet of Jesus Ministries in Lorain. Virginia also worked as a bus driver and custodian for the Oberlin Board of Education for 15 years.
Surviving is her husband, Donald; her children, Charlotta (Roger) Hammond of Masa, Arizona, Tina (Richard) McCartney of Lorain, Robert (Kathy) Salva of Lake Placid, Florida and Sheila Hampton of Lorain; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Wittmer of Wellington; and a sister, Jane Temple of Lorain.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husband, John Salva in 2005; a daughter, Victoria Aliff in 2014; grandchildren, Robert Hilton and Yolanda McCartney; step father, Wayne Wittmer; and brothers, Robert Poyle and Ronald Poyle.
The family will receive friends on receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2018 at At the Feet of Jesus Ministries, 3009 Pearl Avenue, Lorain 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm. Rev. Karen Kiser, pastor will officiate.
