W. Bruce Murray

W. Bruce Murray, age 68, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Hospice of Medina County at The Inn, Medina.
He was born on April 28, 1941 in Dundee, Scotland, moving to the United States in 1966. He was a Professional Engineer.
He was a long-time swim coach for the Lorain YMCA and the Carousel Swim Club. He coached many national and regional qualifiers and several swimmers, who achieved collegiate success.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Isabella (nee Ireland), his children; W. Bruce (Leeann), of IN, Katriona (David) Torok, of Kirtland, OH, and Ian (Jennifer), of IN, grandchildren; Kyle, Clayton, Sydney, Joseph, and Jaymes Torok, and William and Graeme Murray, brother, Graham, of England, and sister, Allison Murray, of Scotland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; W. Bruce and Jessie (nee Strachan) Murray, and step-mother, Dorothy (nee Bowden).
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, from 1- 2 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. James Smucker, Pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
