Wanda M. Aponte (nee Hernandez), age 55, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain.
Born January 6, 1962 in Lorain, she lived in the city her entire life.
For the past year, Wanda worked for At Home in Sheffield Village. Prior to this, she worked for over 20 years at Sears in Elyria in the tool department.
Wanda was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, and enjoyed making corn hole games, wood working and taking pictures.
Surviving is her husband of 20 years, Hector L. Aponte; son, William Acevedo of Lorain; daughter, Lazell Rivera of Brunswick; 6 step children and 5 grandchildren; brothers, Nelson Hernandez, Candido Hernandez and Norman Hernandez all of Lorain; and sisters, Nancy Mynarsky and Nora Vicens both of Sheffield Village.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Julia (nee Elena) Hernandez.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate.
