William G. Lamats

William G. Lamats, age 69, of Lorain, died on Friday, June 29, 2012 at his residence.
Born December 24, 1942 in Lorain, where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Lorain High School and served in the US Army.
William worked as an electrician at Ohio Edison for 42 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, Lorain and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by is son, Joseph Lamats, of Lorain; grandson, Joshua W. Dalehite, of Lorain; a brother, Robert Lamats, of Lorain; and sister, Phyllis Poszywak, of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Wilhelmine (nee Puchinger) in 2011; parents, William S. and Wilma (nee Yuronich) Lamats; and a daughter, Donna Lamats.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. mass at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. John Retar will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
