William Maldonado, age 76 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 at his residence while under the care of New Life Hospice.
Born April 28, 1947, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Domingo and Eugenia Maldonado, William moved to Lorain at an early age. He graduated from Admiral King High School and was a supervising lab technician for the former B.F. Goodrich where he retired after 40 years of service.
A jack of all trades, William enjoyed keeping busy, including renovating houses, electrical work, carpentry, and many other trades. He also loved motorcycles, karaoke and dancing.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Josephine (nee Brewer) Maldonado; children, Eugenia “Gina” Celestino, Patience (Joey) Colon and Sixto Garcia III.; grandchildren, Marissa, Nico, Lorenzo “Reno”, Sixto IV, Alexis “Lexi”, Ryan, Sarah, Madisson, Tiarra, Camryn; eight (soon to be nine) great grandchildren; a sister, Carmen Navarro as well as his brothers, Saul Maldonado Sr. and Hiram Maldonado.
He was preceded in death by his son, William “Snake” Maldonado Jr., grandson, Jordan Altpater; both of his parents; brothers, Manuel, Cruz “Tito”, Ruben, as well as his sister, Eneida.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
