William "Willie" Marquez, age 57, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at University Hospital, Cleveland, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 11, 1950 in Lorain, Ohio where he has been a resident for his entire life. He was a 1968 graduate of Lorain High School.
Willie retired from the United States Post Office as a Supervisor. He was also a musician, writer, composer, and lead singer for the group, Nombres.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall, South Congregation, in Lorain.
Surviving is his spouse, Phyllis (nee Zocchi), 2 sons; William A. Marquez and Sean A. Marquez, both of Lorain, a step-daughter, Candace Chesnick, of Lorain, 2 step-sons; Kenneth J. and Kevin J. Cullen, both of Lorain, 13 grandchildren, and a sister, Alicia "Tita" Marquez, of CT.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dionisio and Adela (nee Crespo) Marquez, 2 brothers; Nelson and Lionel "Johnny" Marquez, and a sister, Maria Diaz.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2007, from 4 -8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services and burial will be held by the family at a later date.
