William E. Pollack, age 58, of Lorain, died on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain, following a one week illness.
He was born on April 6, 1946 in Elyria, Ohio. He was a resident of Lorain before moving to Medina in 1985.
He was a 1964 graduate of Admiral King High School. He also was a 1972 graduate of Lorain County Community College and received a Civil Engineering Degree in 1978 from Tri-State College.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.
William was employed in the engineering dept. of the City of Elyria for the past 6 years. He had previously worked for Ohio Edison in Elyria, Akron and Fairlawn for 16 years. Before that he was employed by the City of Elyria.
He was a member of the St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church, Brunswick, Ohio and was a former member of the St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain.
He was a member of the ELKS Club, Elyria #465 and American Society of Civil Engineers.
William enjoyed spending time on his computer.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Betty Lou (nee Doza), brother: James Pollack, of Elyria, and sister: Barbara Santiago, of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Frances (nee Krabec) Pollack.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a parastas service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Divine Liturgy at 11:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain with Rev. Fr. Michael Huszti, pastor of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Cleveland officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
