William D. "Wild Bill" Rogala, age 57, of Sheffield Lake, died on Thursday, September 06, 2007 at Rae-Ann Nursing Facilities, Westlake, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 18, 1950 in Lorain, where he has lived most of his life.
He was a 1970 graduate of Admiral King High School.
William was employed as a laborer for the Ford Motor Company, Lorain for 18 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
He was a member of both the Elyria and Lorain Polish Clubs, the Moose in Elyria, Amvets in both Lorain and Elyria, VFW and American Legion in both Elyria and Lorain.
He enjoyed race cars at the Speedway, fishing, visiting casinos, going to his clubs, watching basketball and football.
He is survived by his daughters: Sherri McElheny, of Sheffield Lake, Tina Carver, of Elkins, WVA and Vicki Ward of Friendly, WVA, 7 grandchildren, brothers: Edward Rogala of Vermilion and Bob Rogala of Ravenna, sisters: Sandra Bohnert, of North Ridgeville and Elizabeth Simons, of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Adam and Velma Rogala, both in 1990, biological mother: Muriel (nee Denger) Rogala in 1953 and sister Phyllis Morris in 1994.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a prayer service will be at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. Ken Wolnowski, pastor of Catholic Church of St. Peter, will officiate. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
