Yolanda M. Rosario (nee Alvarez), age 41 of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 11, 1974 in Lorain, she has lived in Lorain her entire life. Yolanda graduated from Southview High School in 1993.
She worked for Riddell in Elyria as an assembler for 8 ½ years. Prior to this, she worked at Lithonia Lighting in Vermilion as an assembler for many years.
Yolanda was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she was active in The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Families in Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her 2 children, her sons football events, attending Christian concerts with her family, and celebrating the 4th of July.
Surviving is her husband of 9 years, Jose Rosario; a son, Emanuel Antonio Rosario of Lorain; and a daughter, Chanity Lee Hodge of Lorain; brothers, Sergio Alvarez Jr. and Angel Andujar both of Elyria; sisters, Virginia Bracero and Sarah Kramer both of Lorain, Marilyn Rivera of Avon, Angela Bonilla of Lorain and Miriam Alvarez of St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sergio and Beneranda (nee Malave) Alvarez.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Monday at 8:45 am followed by mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.
