Yolanda M. Stumphauzer (nee-Chaszar), age 89, of Lorain, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 in the Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain, following a brief illness.
Born April 30, 1915 in Lorain, Mrs. Stumphauzer had lived in Avon for 20 years, coming back to Lorain in 1955. She was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, and a member of Virgin Mary Society of the church and St. Anns Auxiliary 287 of Lorain. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading western novels, sewing, crocheting and spending time in the rose garden. She was also a big fan of the Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by her husband- Joseph V. Stumphauzer, whom she married November 5, 1932; one son- Joseph S. Stumphauzer of Amherst; two daughters- Mary Ann Burger and Jane Pope, both of Lorain; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters- Irene Pastor of Elyria and Eleanor Stidham of St. Petersburg, Florida; Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents- Michael and Elizabeth (nee-Bozendor) Chaszar; two brothers- James and Julius Chaszar; two sisters- Margaret Frederick and Elizabeth Chaszar.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where St. Anns Auxiliary 287 of Lorain and Virgin Mary Society of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, will recite the rosary at 3:30 P.M. Services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M., in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, with the Rev. Fr. James P. Schmitz, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
